Kaysie Lackey was a huge hit at our inaugural Cake Me Away Cruise to Moreton Island, and we are happy to announce that she will be returning in 2017! Not only is Kaysie a celebrity pastry chef, but she is also the owner of the People’s Cake based in Seattle, Washington. Kaysie is talented in many facets of cake decorating, including sculpting, painting, armature and floral works of art! We are lucky to have her with us in 2017 where our students will learn 3D modelling as well as her sugar flower techniques.

The team at Cake Me Away Cruises are very excited to announce that Dorothy Klerck will be joining us for the 2017 Brisbane to the Great Barrier Reef cruise! Dot is the owner of Eat, Cake, Party, and is an incredible cake artist who has a flair for creating realism in her 3D Sculptures. She has taught her techniques all over the world and recently gained attention for her stunning life size rhinoceros cake that featured in the Cape Town Good Food & Wine Show in May 2016.

Dot has a fabulous teaching style and works with students from start to finish, teaching them how to build 3D cake structures from the ground up. She has developed an amazing 3D sculpture for our next Cake Me Away Cruise and we cannot wait to see it come to life! Dot will also be teaching two fabulous demonstrations during the cruise.

Dorothy will be teaching a 3D Bronzed Mermaid sculpture that will develop structural and modelling techniques for students, as well as learning how to create an amazing finish to this incredible work of art. This class is strictly limited to the first 15 people to book in. We suggest booking your place early to avoid disappointment!

Cake Me Away Cruises are also very happy to announce the return of Anna-Maria Roche as one of our teachers and demonstrators! Anna-Maria was an amazing asset during our inaugural cruise to Moreton Island in May. She has a fantastic sense of humour as well as a bubbly outlook on life. There is never a dull moment to be had with Anna-Maria in the room.

Austrian born Anna-Maria discovered a love of decorating while working at a resort in Switzerland. Her work is flawless with clean lines and a delicate finish. Also known as the Queen of piping, Anna Maria is a well-respected and sought after teacher within the cake industry.

Anna-Maria is bringing her skills and knowledge to the 2017 Great Barrier Reef Cruise, teaching 2 demonstrations as well as a special VIP class showcasing her ‘Giant Rose’ technique. This class is strictly limited to the first 15 people who book and we suggest you book in early to avoid disappointment!

Christine, founder of Cake Me Away Cruises, has been decorating cakes for over 25 years and is a well-respected teacher within the cake industry. Chris has taught all around Australia among some of the best in the industry.  Chris is also a Satin Ice ambassador for Australia. Chris brings a vast knowledge on all areas of decorating, as well as a superb teaching ability resulting in a great rapport with her students.

Chris also owns The Raspberry Butterfly Cake Decorating School in Newcastle, NSW where she teachers students from all over the region the latest techniques.

Sharan, co-founder of Cake Me Away Cruises, has been decorating for 8 years and teaching and developing classes for over 5 years with both the Raspberry Butterfly and Bake Boss. With a background in art, Sharan found a love for cake decorating as a way to express herself. Sharan brings a creativity and love for modelling to her work and novelty cakes where she can combine real life with cake.

Sharan has recently moved to regional Victoria with her husband. She three small children and currently focuses on the marketing and administration of Cake Me Away Cruises but loves creating and teaching when she can!
